Welcome
Hello and a warm welcome to my website!
I am a fully qualified, approachable and warm counsellor.
I have experience of working with adults with a broad range of issues (depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, low self-esteem, abuse, anger, etc.).
I am here to help if you are struggling with an addiction and feeling trapped, or if you are in a relationship that isn’t good for you and unable to get out of it. Or if you would love to enjoy more your social life, but being around people makes you feel nervous and anxious. Maybe you would like to be stronger, more assertive and confident, but you don’t know how. Perhaps, you are at a difficult place with your marriage, fighting all the time and seem to have lost connection. Or you have everything in life but you aren’t happy, you would like to find a purpose…
I offer short or/and long therapy to individuals and to couples in English and also in Italian, in person and online.
My approach isn’t direct and leading. I will let you decide what to talk about and the pace of your “therapeutic journey”. We can explore your issues, experiences and feelings together. I will ask you some questions or make comments that will help you to reflect and gain more self-awareness. You will have a better understanding of why you are stuck in unhealthy behaviour patterns. You will gain some insights, start to see things differently and understand how to move forward and making changes.
If you would like more information or you are interested in therapy with me, please get in touch via email, telephone or text. I aim to reply/call back with 24 hours.
How it works
You can contact me via email or phone, talk to me about why you would like counselling.
Then we arrange a first session. This is a time where you can explain your situation, what troubles you and what you would like to get out of therapy. You can experience the way I work .
If we decide to work together, then we will meet once a week, usually at the same time. It is important to be committed to therapy in order to get good results.
My approach
I am a Person Centred counsellor.
The Person Centred Approach believes that we have a natural tendency to fulfil our potential. Sometimes this is blocked or distorted because of our early experiences in life, that teach us that what we feel or do isn’t acceptable (because it isn’t accepted by others). Since as children we crave for love and acceptance by others, we compromise our true self. In time this can result in a variety of issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, addiction and so on.
In this kind of approach, the counsellor isn’t viewed as an expert. The expert is the client, the expert of their own life. The counsellor won’t give you any advice or tell you what to do. She/he will provide a supportive, caring and not judgemental space where the client will feel free to explore issues and learn to trust themselves, working towards self-acceptance.
The relationship between the client and the counsellor is the key to a successful therapy.
If you decide to work with me, you will decide what to talk about during our sessions and the pace of your therapeutic journey.
